Carrie Weir

Executive Director

Happy New Year! I hope that each of you enjoyed the holidays.

Council meets the second Tuesday of each month. Some highlights of the activity and achievements undertaken by your 2018-2019 Council in Q4, 2018 follow:

  • Met with each SLSA Committee Chair in September to review and update Terms of Reference, encourage engagement, and implement a monthly reporting cycle
  • Finalized and executed P. Surv. Coexistence agreement between SLSA and PSC on October 11, 2018

  • Continued to liaise with Murray Radoux, CBEPS representative, regarding a national solution for the assessment of Foreign Trained Land Surveyors

  • Monitor and respond to unauthorized practice throughout the province.

  • Met with ISC/OPRA on Nov. 21. The minutes of that meeting are posted in our members’ site. Quarterly meetings are planned for 2019

  • Met with Tera McNabb, Park Planning & Business Services on Nov. 29 regarding the alteration of RPRs in the Provincial Park Cottage Subdivision Directives 2016

  • Met with Kathleen Watkin, Museums Advisor, Museums Association of Saskatchewan on Dec. 3, and established a Museum Committee

  • Approved committee budgets for the coming year, and worked with committees
  • Are currently beta testing the SLSA Geo-Ed platform for online CPD tracking, which should be available to SLSA members in January.

Thanks to everyone who attended the Fall Seminar Dec. 4-5. We had 61 registrants for the seminar, and 14 MLA’s in attendance at the reception. Some of the presentations are available on the members’ page
